PVCu window and door manufacturer Eurocell says that nearly a third of customers want their future homes to be more eco-friendly. Eurocell’s Future Home report reveals that 29% of respondents rated eco-friendliness as the most desired design feature for their home. Transport for London (TfL) has awarded a £196 million contract to a joint venture of Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure and VolkerFitzpatrick (MSVF) to extend the London Overground to Barking Riverside. The delivery of the extension will support up to 10,800 new homes. VolkerFitzpatrick

The latest figures show that in July to September 2018, local authorities sold an estimated 2,417 dwellings under the Right to Buy scheme. This is a decrease of 22% from the 3,115 sold in the same quarter of 2017. Offsite specialist McAvoy has been appointed to build a regional office for Homes England in the new town of Northstowe, Cambridgeshire. Construction is starting shortly, with the two-storey building being created using modules manufactured offsite.

French construction group Vinci has taken a 50.01% stake in London Gatwick Airport for £2.9bn. Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) who sold the stake have retained a 49.99% share for itself. GIP will maintain its role in the management and ownership of the airport. The transaction does not include Edinburgh Airport, which GIP also owns.
